IN MEMORIAM
Claude Peterso retired vice president-System Passenger Traffic, died in October
of smoke inhalation when his San Diego apartment burned. His wife, Edith, also died in the fire.
Peterson joined SP in 1917 as a junior clerk in San Francisco and rose through various departments
to vice president-system passenger traffic in 1945. He retired in 1962 after a 45-year career.
